Prime Minister Vladimir Putin visits the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour to congratulate Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on the anniversary of his enthronement

The Patriarch thanked Mr Putin for coming, to which the Prime Minister replied: "I am very glad to see you. Congratulations!"

The two men met in the cathedral Throne Room, where Mr Putin gave the Patriarch white roses, and they exchanged three kisses in accordance with the Eastern Christian custom.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister and the Patriarch went to the latter's chambers for tea.
